Porcelain Veneers

A veneer is a thin tooth-shaped moulding, custom-made in a professional dental laboratory, which is fastened to the front surface of a tooth. It is a quick and easy method for helping you to reshape your teeth and smile. Veneers are an effective solution for fixing a wide range of dental cosmetic issues.

As with most dental restorations, veneers are not a permanent fix to the issues you have with your teeth and will need replacing at some point in the future. However, they are very durable and will last many years, giving you a healthy smile that you can take confidence in.

At Preston Circus Dental Practice in Brighton, patients travel to us from around Sussex and the South East for their porcelain veneers, as our highly skilled team has many years of experience in delivering successful restorative dentistry treatments. Frequently Asked Questions

What does getting porcelain veneers involve?

Getting veneers usually requires two visits to complete the process, with little or no anaesthesia required during the procedure.

How are my veneers made?

The teeth are prepared by lightly buffing and shaping the surface to allow for the thickness of the veneer. A mould of the teeth is taken, then you get to choose the shade of colour with your dentist.

What happens on my second visit?

On the second visit, the teeth will be cleansed with special liquids to achieve a durable bond. Bonding cement is then placed between the tooth and veneer and a special light beam is used to harden and set the bond.

How do I look after my veneers?

After the procedure is completed, you will receive care instructions looking after your veneers. Proper brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will help to ensure that they last for a long time.
